Experience in SRRSH

2016/07/28

I stayed at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital as an exchange program doctor for one week in March 2016.  At first, I was surprised with a significant change of China, because I visited to China for sightseeing in 1998 and the building had changed remarkably.  I was interested in Chinese who had made such big progress.

I watched a lot of laparoscopic surgery such as gastrectomy, colectomy, cholecystectomy, removal of common bile duct stones, and pancreaticoduodenectomy. They performed a lot of laparoscopic surgery and were accustomed to such difficult operation.  They convened complication conference every week and exerted every effort to prevent complication.

I met an Ethiopian doctor who was studying in the hospital as an exchange doctor.  He taught me the African medical circumstance and medical training.  That was completely different to our situation and motivated me to study world medical system.

During my stay in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, I could use a large private residence and every meal was offered at cafeteria. There were large shopping malls and restaurants nearby. The life in Zhejiang was comfortable.

My stay in China was so short, but I could learn and experience a lot.  I appreciate all staff who support me in China. Thank you so much!
