St George’s Hospital Delegation Visited SRRSH

On November 10, 2017, a delegation of six, led by Dr. Wei Zhang, Osteoporosis Specialist Consultant of St George’s Hospital of the UK, visited Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH). The delegation was accompanied by Chen Zhengfang, director of International Collaboration Office of Zhejiang Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, and was warmly welcomed by Center for International Collaboration (CIC) at SRRSH.

 

Ms Wang Jin, MA, CIC Director, made a presentation of SRRSH overview, hospital management, discipline development as well as international collaboration to the guests. Then Dr. Omar A Khan on behalf of the delegation also introduced St George’s Hospital briefly. Established in 1733, St George’s Hospital is affiliated with St George’s, University of London, and stands as a national medical organization in the UK. It bears dual responsibilities of medical teaching and medical research.

 

Dr. Khan said, St George’s Hospital attaches great importance to day care and have done many day surgeries as well as laparoscopic surgeries. Both two hospitals have been doing similar work and focusing on medical research and education, so it is very beneficial to learn more from each other in this regard. Meanwhile, the delegation experts expressed that SRRSH is the most impressive one among all the other hospitals they have ever been to.

 

Afterwards, the delegation visited SRRSH heritage center and had a look at the operation theater and outpatient area. They spoke highly of SRRSH culture, operations and environment, and expected to establish a deeper cooperative relationship in academic and research area with SRRSH.
