Nephrology and Dialysis

The Department of Nephrology at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, of Zhejiang University, is nationally renowned and ranked in the Top 15, by the Peking University Reports (2015), for excellence in patient care. The Department consists of an Outpatient Clinic, Inpatient Ward, Dialysis Center, and Hemodialysis Vascular Access Center. We offer comprehensive clinical services, innovative research and state-of-the-art training programs.

 

We provide outstanding clinical care in all aspects of kidney disease, including:

Glomerular diseases: acute glomerulonephritis; chronic glomerulonephritis; nephritic syndrome; IgA nephropathy

Acute kidney injury

Secondary kidney disease: diabetic nephropathy; hypertension; lupus nephritis

Renal tubular interstitial disease

Chronic kidney disease and ESRD

Urinary tract infections: urethritis, cystitis; pyelonephritis

Metabolic bone disease in CKD: renal hyperparathyroidism; renal osteodystrophy

Other immune diseases: hyperlipidemia, liver failure

 

The Dialysis Center has been equipped with the most advanced Hemodialysis machine and Automated Peritoneal Dialysis machine, providing high standards of treatment in Hemodialysis (HD), Hemofiltration (HF), Hemoperfusion (HP), Plasma Exchange Therapy (PE) and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD).

 

The Hemodialysis Vascular Access Center has a leading national position in design, establishment and maintenance, which is the “lifeline” for dialysis patients.

 

We provide all kinds of up-to-date surgical and interventional techniques including:

 

Establishment surgery: autogenous arteriovenous fistula; graft arteriovenous fistula; transposition fistula; central venous catheter

Treatment of vascular access complications: surgical reformation;  percutaneous transluminal angioplasty; stent implantation for the treatment of fistula stenosis; ultrasound or DSA guided interventional therapy; fogarty catheter embolectomy; AngioJet fistula thrombolysis; buttonhole

Laparoscopic surgery: peritoneal dialysis catheter implantation; adjustment and fixation of pelvic peritoneal dialysis catheter
