After graduating from Zhejiang University School of Medicine (formerly Zhejiang Medical University) in 1995, Dr. SONG Xiangyang completed his residency and fellowship training in general surgery at SRRSH provided by senior doctors from Loma Linda University Health, USA. Serving as an attending doctor, he has been focusing on breast malignancy, mainly the surgery and the comprehensive multimodality treatment. He is the first one to introduce and adopt the ideas and techniques of breast conservation surgery, sentinel node biopsy and oncoplastic breast conservation surgery in local regions, as well as the innovative and pioneering work of laparoscopically harvested omentum flap for oncoplastic breast surgery in this nation. Based on the studies of sentinel node biopsy in solid cancers, Dr. Song was awarded the Science and Technology Award of Zhejiang Province in 2005.  

Dr. Song was one of the visiting doctors of several hospitals in Japan and the USA, including Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN.
