After graduating from Zhejiang Medical University (the predecessor of Zhejiang University School of Medicine) in 1996, Dr. LI Wei obtained his master's degree in surgery at Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2002. Then he studied the molecular mechanism of colon cancer at Technical University of Texas School of Medicine from 2005 to 2006.

He has mainly engaged in clinical practice and scientific research of gastrointestinal tumors and related teaching work. He specializes in the comprehensive treatment of gastrointestinal tumors (including gastric cancer and colon cancer) and surgical treatment of morbidly obesity. He has been responsible for or participated in multiple provincial medical research projects and published several papers in his field.
