Dr. WANG Xianfa graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine of Zhejiang Medical University in 1987. He studied for a master's degree in surgery at Zhejiang Medical University from 1992 to 1995, and went to University of Loma Linda Medical Center for further study in 2009. He worked as a resident physician at the Deqing County People's Hospital from 1987 to 1992, and has worked at SRRSH as a resident, fellow and attending from 1995 to the present.

He is mainly engaged in clinical practice, teaching and scientific research in the field of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and minimally invasive surgery. He has deep attainments in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal tumors such as gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, etc. He is also experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of cholelithiasis, biliary tract tumors, and liver and pancreatic tumors. He is especially good at laparoscopic surgery, and is a leader in the field of minimally invasive surgery domestically, including laparoscopic radical gastric cancer surgery, laparoscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery, laparoscopic gallstone surgery and other surgeries.

He has been responsible for a number of national, provincial and ministerial level projects, and was awarded the second prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress (2009) for "Application of Laparoscopic Technology in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Diseases". He also received the Good Doctor Award from Zhejiang University (2019), among other awards.
