Biographical sketch
In 2009, Dr. YU Weihua graduated from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and has worked in the Department of General Surgery at SRRSH. His doctoral supervisor is Professor CAI Xiujun, a renowned expert in hepatobiliary surgery. He has been primarily involved in clinical practice, scientific research, and teaching related to gastrointestinal surgery. His areas of expertise include minimally invasive treatment for benign and malignant gastrointestinal tumors as well as obesity and metabolic diseases. He is highly recognized within the profession for pioneering a personal original technique using small three-hole laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. His research mainly focuses on the occurrence and development of gastrointestinal tumors and clinical application mechanisms, the occurrence and development of obesity and metabolic disease mechanisms.
He has led or participated in five provincial and departmental projects, authored 12 Chinese and English papers (seven of which are SCI papers) within the past five years as either the first or corresponding author, contributed to the revision of a national clinical guideline, and collaborated on five expert consensus papers.
