Comprehensive treatment of hepatobiliary-pancreatic tumors, minimally invasive surgery of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen, and liver transplantation; systemic treatment and laparoscopic and robotic surgery of malignant hepatobiliary-pancreatic tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma, gallbladder cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, pancreatic cancer, and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors; laparoscopic surgery for benign hepatobiliary-pancreatic diseases such as liver hemangioma, gallbladder polyps, biliary dilation, and pancreatic cystic diseases; laparoscopic surgeries for gallstone diseases, including gallbladder stones, common bile duct stones, and hepatolithiasis, as well as laparoscopic surgeries for liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension; laparoscopic spleen-preserving surgery for spleen diseases, single-port laparoscopic surgery for certain gallbladder stones, and liver transplantation surgery for end-stage liver disease and liver cancer, along with the full-course management of liver transplant patients.
Biographical sketch
Dr CAI Liuxin graduated from Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 1998 with a doctorate in surgery. He specializes in clinical practice, scientific research, and teaching in hepatobiliary-pancreatic-spleen surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and organ transplantation.
Dr. Cai is skilled in the comprehensive treatment of hepatobiliary-pancreatic tumors, minimally invasive surgery of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen, as well as liver transplantation. He has particular expertise in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries for hepatobiliary-pancreatic tumors and gallstone disease. He is proficient in liver transplantation for end-stage liver disease and liver cancer, as well as the full-course management of liver transplant patients. He has conducted in-depth research in laparoscopic liver resection via the anterior approach, Glisson’s sheath transection laparoscopic liver resection, and laparoscopic anatomic liver segment resection. Dr. Cai has also carried out extensive research on human organ donation, organ quality assessment and preservation, organ procurement, and liver transplantation.
He has led several provincial and ministerial-level research projects, published over 20 papers, holds two patents related to laparoscopic liver resection, and has been awarded the Provincial Medical and Health Science and Technology Award four times as a principal participant.
