Biographical sketch
Dr. CAO Liping serves as the Executive Deputy Director of the Department of General Surgery at SRRSH, and Deputy Director of the Surgical Research Institute at Zhejiang University. He earned his medical doctorate in Germany and has long been engaged in frontline clinical practice and research in abdominal surgery, particularly hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery and minimally invasive techniques, amassing extensive clinical expertise. He routinely provides consultations, guidance, and surgical support for complex cases to hospitals across and beyond Zhejiang Province.
As the principal investigator, he has led six projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, three provincial major research initiatives, and multiple other provincial/ministerial research programs. He has authored nearly 100 research publications and received the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Second Prize and Third Prize as the first principal investigator. He also contributed as a key participant in winning national-level awards, including the National Invention Second Prize and the National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize. Dr. Cao enjoys high recognition within the medical community.
