Professor Xia specializes in the diagnosis and management of immune-mediated dermatological diseases, including lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, bullous pemphigoid, pemphigus, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, scleroderma, and dermatomyositis, with particular expertise in biologics and the comprehensive treatment of complex complications.
Biographical sketch
Dr. Yumin Xia graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Bachelor’s degree) in 1998, and earned a Medical Doctorate from Wuhan University in 2006. He conducted postdoctoral and research fellow work at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the United States. Dr. Xia primarily engaged in clinical practice, scientific research, and teaching in immune-mediated dermatological diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, bullous pemphigoid, pemphigus, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, scleroderma, and dermatomyositis. He was recognized with honors such as “Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Physician” by the Chinese Medical Association and “Provincial Young and Middle-aged Leading Talent.” Moreover, Dr. Xia has led nine national-level research projects and published over 130 English-language papers. Recently, he was awarded the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Prize.
