Diagnosis and treatment of common and complex diseases in gastroenterology, such as unexplained abdominal pain, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding of various causes, intestinal ulcers, etc., with particular expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), complex and rare intestinal diseases.
Biographical sketch
Dr. CAO Qian graduated from Sun Yat-sen Medical University in 1997 and later obtained a master's degree and a doctorate in nternal medicine from Zhejiang University School of Medicine. From 2003 to 2004, she conducted research on genetic susceptibility genes for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at the GIBSON Gastrointestinal Laboratory, Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Oxford, UK. From 2006 to 2008, she served as a visiting associate professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the University of California, Los Angeles, focusing on the pathogenesis of IBD. In 2013, She completed the advanced fellowship training in IBD at Mayo Clinic in the United States. With over 20 years of experience in diagnosing and treating various common digestive system diseases, she specializes in the clinical diagnosis and basic research of IBD, complex bowel diseases, and rare diseases. The IBD Center she leads at SRRSH is a top-tier center in China. She has led and participated in the establishment of more than 10 guidelines and standards for the diagnosis and treatment of IBD, as well as over 40 multicenter clinical studies and new drug trials nationwide. As the editor-in-chief and deputy editor-in-chief, she has authored several books. She has been responsible for more than 20 national and provincial research projects and published over 100 research papers in her field.
