Dr. QIU Wenya graduated from Zhejiang Medical University in 1994. He obtained a doctoral degree in ophthalmology from Zhejiang University in 2005 and was a visiting scholar at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from March to October 2008. With many years of experience in ophthalmic clinical practice, she treats more than 5,000 cases of eye diseases including corneal disease, cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal diseases annually. She has particularly distinguished herself in the standardized diagnosis and treatment of corneal diseases, as well as in handling complex corneal cases. Her patient base covers Zhejiang province and surrounding areas and she has earned a good reputation among her patients. Dr. Qiu specializes in the diagnosis and surgery of ocular surface and corneal diseases, refractive errors; performs phacoemulsification cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation, refractive lenticular surgeries, and cosmetic eyelid surgeries. Her primary research focus is on the mechanisms of fungal keratitis and corneal epithelial wound healing. She has published seven SCI-indexed papers as the first or second author, received both a first and second prize in Zhejiang Science and Technology Awards as a key contributor, and holds two national invention patents as the third inventor. She has been honored with the title of "Advanced Worker" twice at Zhejiang University.
