In 1995, Dr. TAN Weiqiang was admitted to the School of Life Sciences at Peking University. In 1998, he entered the Peking Union Medical College (now Tsinghua University's Peking Union Medical College), and in 2003, he graduated with an M.D. He was a visiting scholar at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, USA, and is currently the head of the discipline and degree program of Plastic Surgery at Zhejiang University. His clinical expertise includes liposuction for body contouring, fat grafting, breast surgery (including implant and fat augmentation, breast ptosis correction, and redundant breast), private area procedures, scar treatment, laser therapy, cleft lip repair, lymphedema, and treatment of axillary odor (bromhidrosis). As the first author or corresponding author, he has published over 100 papers, 71 of which are included in the SCI (Science Citation Index), with 11 papers appearing in high-impact international journals. He has also authored and edited books such as Basic Techniques in Medical Experiments and New Minimally Invasive Techniques for Axillary Odor Treatment. He holds 22 national patents. He has led four projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and participated as a core member in one National Key R&D Program. He has been selected for various talent programs, including Zhejiang Province Innovation Talent, Zhejiang Province 151 Talent Project, and the A-level Clinical Elite Youth Talent Program at Zhejiang University.
