Areas of focus:
Respiratory support for critically ill patients with respiratory failure, airway management, treatment of difficult-to-wean patients, as well as the evaluation, diagnosis, and respiratory rehabilitation of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, neuromuscular diseases, perioperative care, and chest wall disorders; diagnosis and treatment of diaphragmatic dysfunction, chronic respiratory failure oxygen therapy, non-invasive respiratory support, and respiratory rehabilitation.Research interest:Respiratory failure, Mechanical ventilation, Diaphram dysfunction.

Biographical sketch

Dr. GE Huiqing has over 20 years of clinical practice, teaching, and research experience in respiratory therapy. She has extensive expertise in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of treatments for respiratory diseases, particularly in individualized mechanical ventilation strategies for critically ill patients with respiratory failure. Her focus areas include respiratory mechanics, diaphragmatic dysfunction, treatment of difficult-to-wean patients, and respiratory rehabilitation and therapy for chronic respiratory diseases and perioperative patients. She pursued further study in the United States in 2007 and 2015. In 2010, she was an international visiting scholar of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and received the "Adult Critical Care Respiratory Therapy Award" from AARC in 2014. She has published over 50 SCI papers and authored or co-authored 11 professional books. She has also contributed to five expert consensus papers related to respiratory therapy as the first or corresponding author and holds two invention patents. She has led one project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and one project funded by the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation and participated as a key member in two national key R&D projects and two projects funded by the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation.
