After graduating from Medical School of Nanjing University in 1999, Dr. YAN Chunyan obtained her master's degree. Then she got her MD and PhD degree in surgery at Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2011. Then she completed her advanced education in Medical Center of Monash University for one year by getting a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council from June 2003 to June 2004. In 2012, she went to New Haven Medical Center, Yale University to learn transesophageal echogram. She mainly specializes in anesthesiology of laparoscopic surgery (including robot surgery) and day surgery and is dedicated to enhanced recovery after surgery.

She has been responsible for or participated in multiple national and provincial medical research projects and published dozens of papers in her field.
