Biographical sketch
Dr. LI Hong graduated from Zhejiang University School of Medicine (formerly Zhejiang Medical University) in 1982 and obtained a master's degree in endocrinology and metabolism in 1989. She is the former Director of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at both the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital. She was a visiting scholar and visiting professor at Luebeck Medical University in Germany, Joslin Diabetes Center, Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Loma Linda University School of Medicine in the United States. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, thyroid and parathyroid diseases, pituitary disorders (including pituitary tumors), and adrenal diseases. She has undertaken numerous national and provincial projects, including projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and projects of the National Science and Technology Support Program. She has received five provincial and ministerial scientific awards, published over 60 SCI papers and was recognized as a "2020 High Academic Impact Author in Endocrinology & Diabetes in China". She was recognized as one of the "Top Ten Medical Promotion Experts" at the Sixth Medical Summit (2021) for contributions to advancing the development of the profession.
