Premium Nursing Management Training Program

Introduction

Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, consistently upholds internationally advanced concepts in nursing management and practice, integrating innovative thinking. Through years of exploration, the hospital has developed a distinctive and highly effective nursing system. This program designs its curriculum systematically based on an assessment of participants' learning needs, offering comprehensive content covering nursing team building, quality management, and training. Utilizing diverse teaching methodologies such as integrated lectures, group discussions, learning reports, simulation cases, mentor guidance, and clinical practice, the program aims to holistically develop participants' leadership skills and capabilities. It empowers them to apply scientific and systematic management principles to guide their practice, laying a solid foundation for future nursing management roles and contributing to the creation of professional, academic, standardized, and autonomous international nursing teams.

Program Goals

Through theoretical sessions and clinical observation, participants will be able to:


1.Simulate the organizational structure of a nursing team around the five dimensions of Magnet Hospital construction.

2.Simulate the establishment and operation of a shared governance structure involving nursing units.

3.Develop nursing quality and safety management indicators tailored to their own hospital's context.

4.Utilize continuous quality improvement tools to design and critique a continuous quality improvement project within small groups.

5.Apply instructional design principles to plan nurse training programs.

6.Propose comprehensive management dimensions for teams centered on the nursing unit.

7.Clarify their own psychological qualities and methods for providing psychological support to nurses.

8.Efficiently use effective communication methods and apply them in head nurse management.

9.Employ mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) techniques to implement stress transformation and self-care strategies.

Application Requirements

  • Hold a valid nursing license in your country/region.
  • Demonstrate interest in nursing management or nursing education.
  • Be in good physical and mental health with strong communication skills.

Program Schedule

The program lasts for 2 weeks, combining theoretical learning with clinical practice in nursing units. Theoretical instruction employs methods such as intensive lectures, workshops, and scenario-based exercises. The clinical practice component will be tailored to participants' individual needs, with a personal mentor assigned. This allows participants to immerse themselves in clinical settings, gain a deep understanding of the implementation and closed-loop management of various measures, and share practical work experience and problem-solving approaches through interactions with head nurses and frontline nurses.


Intake: 15 participants per session (sessions with fewer than 15 participants will be canceled).

Schedule: Applications are accepted year-round. One session is planned annually, tentatively commencing in the Summer.

Application Procedure

  • Application Submission:Submit required documents via email to the Center for International Collaboration, Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs (CIC) (wangmy@srrsh.com) or through recommended partner organizations.
  • Document Review & Interview:The hospital's expert panel reviews all applications. Following the principle of "mutual selection and merit-based admission," online interviews will be conducted for shortlisted candidates.
  • Admission Notice: Successful candidates will receive a formal "Admission Confirmation Letter" issued by the Hospital's Nursing Department.
  • Travel Documentation:Participants apply for a Chinese visa in their home country. The CIC will issue a formal invitation letter for the program.
  • Payment:The participant or sponsoring institution must pay the full fee on the first day of arrival.
  • Registration & Enrollment:Report to the hospital's CIC and the Nursing Department on the specified date to complete registration procedures and familiarize yourself with the hospital.

Logistics Support

  • Guidance on Chinese visa application and provision of invitation letters.
  • Accommodation recommendations in Hangzhou (costs are borne by the participant).
  • Working meals provided during the course.

  • Completion and Certification

    Upon full completion of the training program, participants will be awarded the "Certificate of Completion for the Premium Nursing Management Training Program" issued by Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine.
