Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine was established in 1994. At the beginning of the establishment of the hospital, Director YU Yusheng and Director LI Hua jointly founded the Department of Plastic Surgery and completed the first operation of SRRSH. Throughout more than 20 years, the Department of Plastic Surgery has always been in line with the service concept of "giving you sincerity, confidence and love", relying on cutting-edge technology to provide professional and excellent plastic surgery services for patients. After years of construction and development, the Plastic Surgery Department has become a clinical medical center integrating medical treatment, scientific research and teaching. There are more than 30 physicians in the department, including 3 doctoral supervisors and master’s supervisors, 4 chief physicians and more than 10 deputy chief physicians. Dr. TAN Weiqiang has been the Director of the department since November 2020. In the recent 5 years, the department has published dozens of academic papers in various academic journals, including 50-odd papers included by SCI and core journals. It has undertaken 5 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, and a number of projects funded by the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation, projects of the Science and Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, the Health Department projects, the Education Department projects, horizontal projects and other ones. It has published and participated in the editing of 5 books and achieved fruitful scientific research achievements. Dr. TAN Weiqiang, a chief physician, has obtained 21 authorized national patents, including 8 invention patents and 13 utility model patents, as the first inventor. He has participated in one national key RESEARCH and development program (as a backbone member) and has been responsible for many talent programs, such as Innovative Talents of Zhejiang Province (2021), New Talents of Zhejiang Medical Field, etc.
