Radiation Oncology
Overview
The Department of Radiation Oncology of SRRSH was founded in 1994. After nearly 30 years of efforts and development, certain achievements have been made in discipline construction, especially in the past 20 years, great progress has been made in medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and personnel training. At present, it is the radiation oncology standardized training base of Zhejiang Province, the National Clinical Trial Center, the demonstration ward of standardized radiotherapy nutritional support treatment, the cancer pain demonstration ward, and the responsible unit for the radiation oncology doctoral degree of Zhejiang University. We have established close cooperation with advanced foreign medical centers such as Mayo Clinic, Loma Linda University Health, Stanford University Medical Center, etc.
The department has complete radiotherapy equipment, which can carry out three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), volume modulated radiotherapy (VMAT) and other radiotherapy techniques. It can flexibly use a variety of advanced technologies at home and abroad such as four-dimensional computed tomography (4D-CT), optical surface tracking, and respiratory gating technology to achieve precise target delineation, precise planning, and precise treatment. It has formed a specialty advantage characterized by precise radiotherapy for malignant tumors such as liver cancer, lung cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and brain tumors. In addition, it can be used in combination with chemotherapy, targeted therapy and biological immunotherapy to maximize the efficacy of tumor treatment.
In the past 30 years, the Department of Radiotherapy of SRRSH has been adhering to the concept of innovation and development, following and leading the development trend of tumor radiotherapy, cutting through difficulties, continuously enriching the treatment methods and continuously improving the service for patients, and becoming the leading radiotherapy center in Zhejiang and even in China.
Technical advantages
The department has a variety of advanced technologies at home and abroad, including four-dimensional computed tomography (4D-CT), optical surface tracking technology, respiratory gating technology, etc. It can provide patients with three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), volume modulated radiation therapy (VMAT), and more accurate stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).
