Dr. ZHOU Wei has engaged in surgery for more than 20 years, and his clinical interests include gastrointestinal diseases, especially advanced laparoscopic surgery for complicated inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal malignancies. He specializes in sphincter-sparing procedures including J-pouch surgery, re-operative surgery, and minimally invasive surgery for Crohn's disease and intestinal fistula. The number and quality of inflammatory bowel disease surgeries are in the leading position in China. He has participated in writing consensus on the surgical treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, nutritional treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, and intestinal obstruction. He has published dozens of academic papers on preoperative optimization of Crohn's disease, innovative surgical procedures of IBD, surgical management of Crohn's disease combined with complex intestinal fistula, staged surgery for ulcerative colitis, etc. He is the principal investigator of a number of national and provincial scientific research projects and has published more than 40 papers in English. He has been awarded the title of Young Post Master of Zhejiang Province, the Natural Science Prize of Zhejiang Province, and the Chinese Surgical Young Scholar Award.
