Biographical sketch
Dr. Jie Zhao, a native of Zhuji, Zhejiang, earned his doctoral degree in Surgery from Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2015. He completed his residency training and subsequent fellowship at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and was promoted to Associate Chief Physician in 2022. He has undertaken advanced training and research at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, the University of Rochester Medical Center, and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and received da Vinci robotic surgery training at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong.
Dr. Zhao has long been engaged in clinical practice, research, and teaching in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant hepatobiliary and pancreatic tumors, complex biliary stone disease, severe acute pancreatitis, and end-stage liver disease. He has led or participated in multiple national and provincial research projects and has published academic papers in related fields.
