Biographical sketch
Dr. ZHOU Wei obtained his M.D. degree in 2011 at Zhejiang University's School of Medicine and pursued postdoctoral research at the George Washington University Cancer Center, USA. His professional activities encompass clinical practice, research, and education in the domain of colorectal oncology and minimally invasive surgical procedures. His clinical expertise includes the integrated management of colorectal neoplasms such as colorectal cancer, anal cancer, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), and neuroendocrine tumors. He is adept in both endoscopic and transanal minimally invasive surgical (TAMIS) approaches for colorectal polyps, and in minimally invasive strategies for benign anorectal conditions like hemorrhoids and fistulas. Additionally, he offers comprehensive management for pelvic floor dysfunctions, including constipation and fecal incontinence, pioneering internationally the TAMIS technique for treating anastomotic strictures. He has led several research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation, resulting in over twenty peer-reviewed publications in SCI-indexed journals.
