Overview

The Department of Dental Specialties of SRRSH, established in 1993, is a comprehensive department combining clinical medical services, medical research, and teaching, and a provincial standardized training base for resident doctors. The department operates across four campuses: Qingchun, Qiantang, Grand Canal, and Shaoxing (the upcoming). Currently, it handles approximately 120,000 outpatient visits annually. Equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, it leverages the platform of Zhejiang University and maintains a close partnership with the School of Dentistry at Loma Linda University in the United States. The department has set up four specialty centers and six clinical sub-specialties and is a renowned large-scale medical institution in the province.

The department currently has 40 doctors, 13 of whom are senior professional technicians, 7 of whom have doctoral degrees, and 30 of whom have master's degrees. Nearly half of the doctors have undergone further education in Europe or the United States. In addition, the team includes 10 dental technicians, 32 dental assistants, and 8 dental hygienists. With a well-structured academic hierarchy, strong technical expertise, youthful vigor, and a passionate work ethic, the department is recognized nationwide for its distinctive and standardized treatments.

Technical advantages

The department has established four specialized centers (the Implant Center, the Orthodontic Center, the Periodontal Center, and the Prophylaxis Center) and six clinical subspecialties.

Implant Specialty: Dental Specialties at SRRSH has been performing oral implant treatments for over 20 years, with extensive clinical experience in single-tooth, multi-tooth, and full-mouth edentulous cases. Following the contemporary implant philosophy of "restoration-driven treatment", patients receive restorations that restore normal oral function and offer excellent aesthetic results. Signature treatments include immediate implant and restoration techniques, ridge-splitting techniques for narrow alveolar ridges, sinus lift procedures (both internal and external), and aesthetic anterior implant restoration techniques. Particularly noteworthy is the center's expertise in edentulous All-on-4 fixed full-arch implant restoration, edentulous implant-retained overdentures, and digital implant restoration, providing more precise, safer, and minimally invasive implant treatments and offering patients high-quality, comfortable medical care.

Periodontal Specialty: Focusing on comprehensive oral diagnosis and treatment, the periodontal specialty is supported by advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment (FLORIDA electronic periodontal probing system, water laser, EMS painless ultrasonic scaler, ultrasonic bone knife, etc.). Based on individual patient needs and the type of periodontal disease, the clinic offers leading clinical technologies, including implant surgery, guided tissue regeneration, guided bone regeneration, bone grafting, free gingival grafts, and aesthetic periodontal surgeries. A professional team of dental hygienists provides standardized and comfortable dental cleaning, sandblasting, periodontal scaling, and other unique services.

Orthodontic Specialty: The orthodontic specialty boasts strong technical capabilities and offers weekend clinics, providing orthodontic services seven days a week. The clinic performs routine treatments such as traditional fixed braces, early orthodontic interventions for adolescents, and digital clear aligners. It also offers non-surgical treatments for skeletal malocclusions, non-extraction orthodontic treatments, and screening for adenoid hypertrophy in children.

Restorative Specialty: The clinic provides diagnosis and treatment for dental defects, tooth loss, and edentulism. Featured services include 3D intraoral scanning, computer-aided design and manufacturing of restorations (CAD/CAM), all-ceramic crowns, ceramic veneers, full-mouth occlusal reconstruction, implant dentures, removable dentures, and full-mouth BPS prosthetics.

Pediatric Specialty: The pediatric clinic specializes in pulp preservation and revascularization techniques for young permanent teeth, minimally invasive caries treatment systems (laser technology, preventive resin sealing, chemical caries removal, and indirect pulp therapy), and occlusal guidance in children (early orthodontic interventions for malocclusion, etc.).

Minimally Invasive Extraction Specialty: This clinic focuses on complex wisdom tooth extractions, minimally invasive surgical tooth extractions, and orthodontic tooth extractions.
