49-year-old Egyptian businessman Elshahat never expected that a routine international business trip would nearly cost him his life. On June 2, after wrapping up his work in China and preparing to fly back to Egypt, he started having mild chest discomfort while waiting at the airport. This soon escalated into severe chest pain that persisted for nearly an hour. After seeking help from airport staff, he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital before being transferred to SRRSH (Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital).

During the transfer, emergency medical workers raced against time, transmitting real-time ECG readings and critical blood test results of Elshahat remotely to our hospital. Dr. Luan Yi, a consultant in the Cardiology Department, maintained continuous remote communication with Elshahat, assisted by Arabic translation from the patient's friend.

For patients with acute MI, time is of the essence! When Elshahat arrived at our Qiantang Campus, the medical team was already waiting in the emergency room with the catheterization room fully prepped. Dr. Luan Yi and Dr. Jin Zhongying performed a thrombus aspiration and right coronary artery stent implantation, completing the life-saving procedure in JUST 48 MINUTES.

Now fully recovered and ready to return home, Elshahat repeatedly gave a thumbs-up before discharge. Through a Chinese friend, he expressed his deep gratitude: "Here at SRRSH, I felt the warmth of the doctors and nurses, along with exceptionally high-quality care. Hospitals of this caliber are rare in my hometown. Thank you for your dedication—you gave me a second chance at life!”
