Prestigious International Dental Fellowship Awarded to Dr. Sheng Lieping

Dr. Sheng Lieping, Director of the Dental Center at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, was formally inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD) at the ICD China Section’s 2026 Annual Academic Conference and Fellowship Induction Ceremony in Chengdu on August 21.

Over 100 experts and scholars attended, including Professor Zhou Xuedong, President of the ICD China Section and an academic division member of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Professor Chen Qianming, ICD Registrar and Vice President of the Chinese Stomatological Association; and distinguished ICD Fellows. Dr. Sheng received his fellowship certificate, gold key and gold pin.

About Dr. Sheng Lieping

Dr. Sheng is a senior consultant, Associate Dean of Zhejiang University’s School of Stomatology and Director of SRRSH’s Dental Center. He serves as vice chairman of the Chinese Stomatological Association’s Committee on Emergency Dental Care and the Zhejiang Stomatological Association’s committees on Oral Implantology and Cariology and Endodontics. He is also a council member of the Zhejiang Stomatological Association and a member of the International Dental Traumatology Association.

His extensive clinical experience covers comprehensive dental care and implant dentistry. His specialties include minimally invasive and aesthetic implant treatment, full-arch implant rehabilitation for edentulous patients, comprehensive management of dental trauma, preservation of natural teeth and pain-free dentistry.

SRRSH Dental Center

Established in September 1993 with the participation of Dr. Lloyd Baum, a professor at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in the United States, the center was developed to international standards. It was amongSRRSH’s first departments established through international collaboration and among Zhejiang’s early providers of dental implants. Its guiding principles are pain-free, minimally invasive and standardized care.

The center operates across four campuses: Qingchun, Qiantang, Grand Canal and Shaoxing. It handles approximately 120,000 outpatient visits annually and employs 40 dentists, including 13 with senior professional titles; over 90 percent hold master’s or doctoral degrees. Facilities include 75 dental units, 49 inpatient beds, chairside CAD/CAM restoration systems, endodontic microscopes, Fotona lasers, dental scanners and customized implant surgical guide systems.

It comprises four centers for implant dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics and dental cleaning, alongside six subspecialties: implant dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry and minimally invasive tooth extraction. Closer integration of general dentistry with head and neck surgery continues to strengthen comprehensive care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
