On the afternoon of July 9, Mr. Zhang Yuanzhi, Deputy Division Chief of the Information Division of the General Office of National Healthcare Security Administration and his team visited Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The delegation investigated mobile payment of medical insurance and the application of medical insurance big data in the hospital. Several provincial leaders participated in the visit, including Mr. E Hongyan, Deputy Director-General of the Office of Zhejiang Healthcare Security Bureau, Mr. Guo Fei, Deputy Division Chief of the Fund Supervision Department of Zhejiang Healthcare Security Bureau, and Mr. Xu Guanjun, Member of Party Leadership Group of Hangzhou Healthcare Security Bureau. Accompanied hospital leadership includes Dr. Zhang Songying, Vice President of SRRSH, and Dr. Zhou Daoyang, Executive Vice President of SRRSH’s Qiantang Campus.

The research team took a look at the hospital’s medical insurance publicity service zone, comprehensive service center, and outpatient service area in turn, learned the construction result of the medical insurance convenience service station and the function and application of Hangzhou medical insurance policy communication code, and watched how facial recognition was applied in registration, settlement, and mobile payment.

Dr. Zhang Songying said that this investigation would further SRRSH’s informatization progress and ensure the safety and effective usage of medical insurance funds.

Dr. Zhou Daoyang said that sincerity lies at the heart of SRRSH’s remarkable achievements made within just 3 decades. He extended heartfelt appreciation to the caring and guidance of the research team and other provincial leaders with hopes of their future visits.

Mr. Zhang Yuanzhi concluded that National Healthcare Security Administration highly values informatization of the medical insurance system and the application of medical insurance big data, the latter in particular. He pointed out that it would further press on with the informatization development in terms of drug tracing codes and patient health archives. Additionally, Mr. Zhang Yuanzhi offered guidance on how to improve Hangzhou medical insurance policy communication code with the expectation that SRRSH would continue its concerted efforts to serve patients in detail better.
