AI Empowerment in Medicine: SRRSH's proposal at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference

The 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) was held in Shanghai, featuring an opening ceremony attended and addressed by Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The event drew over 1,500 distinguished participants from more than 70 countries and regions, including 12 Turing Award winners and Nobel laureates, along with over 80 academicians from China and abroad. Xu Guobin, Party Secretary of #SRRSH (Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital), was present by invitation, showcasing the innovative capabilities of the “Smart SRRSH” initiative.

During the conference, the "AI Agent Maturity Level Classification Standard System for the Healthcare Industry,” co-developed by SRRSH, was launched. This initiative establishes an authoritative framework for the safe, reliable, and standardized application of AI technology in the medical field, marking a new phase in the standardization of AI in healthcare in China.

Our jointly released report, "The Report of the Trajectory of AI Large Models in Healthcare," attracted significant attention for our analysis of cutting-edge breakthroughs and future directions of AI large models in medical applications, which has provided critical insights for the industry's development.

Furthermore, SRRSH proposed that for AI healthcare to be truly implemented, it must evolve from being "usable" to "being favorable." It is essential to stay guided by real clinical needs and build an open ecosystem where every participant can act as both a builder and a beneficiary, ultimately achieving a qualitative shift from AI as a "tool" to AI as a "partner" — a perspective that garnered endorsement from attending leaders and experts.

As a pioneer in the practice of AI in medicine, SRRSH has achieved a series of groundbreaking results:

In 2023, we became the first hospital in China to launch a large language model-based Doctor Assistant system, integrating 280 million pieces of medical records to deliver:

For patients: 98.7% accuracy in department matching, reducing misallocated appointments by 62%;

For doctors: Medical record generation shortened to 2-3 seconds, with a reference rate of 90%;

For management: Outpatient visits increased by 21%, and electronic medical record completion rate improved by 35%.

In 2024, SRRSH innovatively introduced the "SRRSH Digital Human":

"SRRSH Connect" smart customer service: Provides 24/7 support with 100% answer rate and 97.8% satisfaction;

"AI Expert" assisted diagnosis: Achieves 96.5% accuracy, rivaling the expertise of senior physicians.
