Biographical Sketch
Wang Jianbiao, M.D., Associate Chief Physician of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Wang specializes in thyroid surgery and parathyroid surgery, especially minimally invasive video-assisted thyroid surgery and neck scar-less endoscopic thyroidectomy. He has developed an effective technique for the in situ preservation of the inferior parathyroid gland during thyroidectomy plus central neck dissection, which was named “the layer of thymus-blood vessel-inferior parathyroid gland” concept. He has also developed the technique of the location of location normal parathyroid glands before thyroid surgery through ultrasonography. He has completed a great number of cases of total thyroidectomy plus central neck dissection by “the layer of thymus-blood vessel-inferior parathyroid gland” concept and the location of the parathyroid gland through ultrasonography, and the prevalence of transient and permanent hypoparathyroidism in those patients was the lowest in the world.
