Biographical Sketch
Xiao Haowen, M.D. & Ph.D., M.D. Supervisor, Deputy Director, Senior Researcher and Chief Physician of the Hematology Department. Dr. Xiao specializes in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Allo-HSCT) and the diagnosis and treatment of hematologic diseases. She has completed a great number of cases in Allo-HSCT. Dr. Xiao also devotes to biological research of Allo-HSCT and the mechanism research of the pathogenesis and resistance of acute leukemia. She has made novel achievements in searching for mechanisms of leukemia relapse after Allo-HSCT and mechanisms of transplantation immunity. Dr. Xiao first reported the relationship between polymorphisms in donor and/or patient's non-HLA genes associated with the risk of graft versus host disease (GVHD) within the Chinese population. She has been in charge of 4 research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and published 30 papers as the first author or corresponding author in peer-review journals, such as Blood, Haematologica, etc. The research achievements have been presented in oral presentations 18 times at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology, the Annual Meeting of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, etc. Dr. Xiao and her team are awarded national prizes by State Council for their outstanding achievements in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in 2015. Her project is selected for the second level of Zhejiang province "151 Talents Project" and she also enrolls in the "Hundred Talents Program (Clinical Medicine)" of Zhejiang University.
