The Department of Neurosurgery of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital is equipped with the state-of-the-arts hardware of neurosurgery and staff members with brilliant minds. Well-trained neurosurgeons and nurses specialized in neurosurgical care are ready to serve every patient wholeheartedly. Starting in 1994 with the opening of the Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, the Department of Neurosurgery has had close academic communication with neurosurgeons of Loma Linda University and other medical centers across the world. Neurosurgeons from US, Germany, Japan and other countries have visited and worked in our department.


The chief director of our department, Dr. Wang has had great attainments in diagnosis and treatment of adult hydrocephalus, and has held several training sessions in this field. The vice-chief, Dr. Yang is an expert in the endoscopic trans-sphenoidal approach in surgical treatment of pituitary adenomas, and he is one of the famous experts in this field in the Zhejiang province. In addition, most of the neurosurgeons in the department have had in-depth overseas training of neurosurgery in countries such as the US, Germany and Japan. Besides their Chinese Medicine diploma, some of our staff have also achieved a diploma in Doctor of medicine of Germany.
