Overview

The department of Rheumatology of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital was founded in 2020. Up to now, the whole faculty is comprised of 10 specialists, of whom 2 have senior titles and 4 have mid-level titles. As an Internal medicine standardized training base, the department provides guidance for interns as well as international students. Thanks to the in-depth cooperation with Professor Lu Linrong and our joint efforts, a research platform was established with the immunoregulation laboratory of Immunology Institute of Zhejiang University. Since its establishment, 19 articles have been published in the SCI journals, including 11 research papers, of which the highest impact factor reached 16.97. Our team has also hosted and participated in 21 scientific research projects, including 5 national and 3 provincial projects. Among them, there are a National Key Foundation project in cooperation with Professor Lu Linrong and a Regional Key project of innovation. In addition, we have won the first prize in the Scientific and Technological Award of Zhejiang Province.

 

Medical Care Service

1. Autoimmune diseases: systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, Sjogren syndrome, arthritis, vasculitis, inflammatory myopathy and undifferentiated connective tissue diseases. A mature musculoskeletal ultrasound team was accordingly organized that is experienced in the diagnosis and evaluation of arthritis and vasculitis.

2. Genetic diseases and rare diseases: adult autoinflammatory diseases, periodical disease, genetic autoimmune diseases, immune-related rare diseases, etc.

3. Interdiscipline related diseases: fever of unknown origin, infertility related with immune and reproductive medicine.

2. The pathogenesis of Anti-MDA5-positive dermatitis-related pulmonary fibrosis

3. The relationship and pathogenesis of giant cell arteritis and polymyalgia rheumatica

4. Biomarker screening for the reactivity of biological agents

5. Clinical study on mesenchymal stem cell treating refractory rheumatoid arthritis

6. Anti-TIF1-γ antibody predicting the risk of adult dermatomyositis accompanied with tumor and mechanisms

7. Screening of the key genes of Sjogren syndrome and the regulation of CMPK2 on macrophage polarization

8. The pathogenesis and treatment effect of patients with refractory rheumatoid arthritis


International Exchange and Cooperation 

Our department has established deep cooperation with Loma Linda University Medical Center and Mayo clinic. Our division members have engaged in advanced studies in the United States.
